FEATURES OF Wi-Fi 7:
320 MHz Channels & 4K QAM:
It packs more data in one transmission and thus delivering massive gains. It has wider channel and capacity gains from 6GHz spectrum. 4K QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) allows each signal to put greater amount of data compared to the 1K QAM with Wi-Fi 6 /6E. The higher the QAM is, the more information can be packed in it. It has maximum data rate of 5.8Gbps and peak rate of over 40 Gbps, 4X increase over Wi-Fi 6E. In short, the wider the channel the more data it can transmit.
Multi-link operations:
The previous Wi-Fi connections provide single or only one band to make transmission but providing access to multiple Wireless bands. In Wi-Fi 7 devices can connect to two bands simultaneously which enables fastest speeds . this we do with multi link operations (MLO). The High – Band simultaneous Multi-link uses two Wi-Fi radios operating simultaneously in the high bands(5 or 6 GHz). MLO improves the performance by maintaining stable connection and low latency.
Multi Resource Units(RU) and Puncturing:
In case of Wi-Fi 6 /6E , when any part is used of high-speed channel by any other device then entire channel is unavailable due to which a different channel have to be used. But with Wi-Fi 7 we can use other unused path of the same high speed channel.
